BondTight Thin Set—Austin Package Design
For this product packaging design project, Ellis Graphics was asked to assist in product naming, plus initial branding of this new thin set tile adhesive product line. Made by a Mexican company making its first foray into the American market, we sought a name and image that was approachable and intrinsically implied value. After researching the existing product lines in the market space, BondTight was selected as a name that clearly described the job of the adhesive.
To meet the client's desire to create a high value brand, the design challenge was to work within the limited printing possibilities of the large paper bags in which the product is packaged. A simple tile pattern was applied as the main background element of every product with a color coding system to define each product. The color coding allows buyers to rank the products by each product's adhesive/application value. As opposed to the confusing and illogical hierarchy of other manufacturers' product lines, BondTight was designed to offer customers a simple way to categorize and select the right product for the job.
