Stonelake Research Services Logo/Identity
This research firm specializing in materials, chemistry and processing for the high-tech industry contacted Ellis Graphics with the goal of creating an updated image. The idea was to indicate the concept of scientific flow or process in a general enough way to be open to interpretation, so as to be applicable to many varied kinds of technology companies. During the graphic design development, an image of interacting letterforms as modified monogram and a diagram of "process" began to emerge. The final version intertwines a slightly hidden SRS to both forward the company name and allow for an "ah-ha" response. Whether a viewer gets the “a-ha” upon the first or fifth viewing of the logo design, the effect is one of resonance that supports recognition.
